The Dyrt: RV & Free Camping for iPhone

Lots of good options. It does ask you to upgrade a lot.

This used to be awesome. A great resource for camping. Now if you want to see FREE camping you have to pay. Absolutely not, capitalism ruined this resource. I paid for premium before because I could and wanted to support a great app. But locking the good part behind the subscription is greedy. Byyyeee Dyrt! I’ll just go back to researching my public lands before a trip.

Generally, when using a paid camping app you want it to provide something valuable. Have not found that to be the case while I was a member. 1. Never got scanning for cancelled sites to do anything. It’s much easier to go to recreation.gov and put in your own searches and notification requests. That has worked much better in getting hard to book sites. 2. Does not work in Canada. Zero. Nothing. 3. All the other information they provide is readily available on other free sites (Campendium for one. Google is another). Bottom line, save your nickel and don’t sign up for paid membership with this app.

Great database of locations. One of the best I’ve seen and most extensive collection of camping locations of all kinds as well as dump stations and water locations. Could definitely improve on displaying town names and landmarks more to help with orienting one’s self on the map. That was would make it easier to understand where a campsite is relative to the bigger picture. Then one can’t judge how far to drive etc. another area for improvement is to make their uploading a pictures better. The app seems to lose the pictures that I’ve set up for uploading even when I have good signal another area for improvement is displaying pictures. The app has great difficulty displaying campground pictures both on my windows 11 computer and on my android smart phone. It does a little better on my iPad. I don’t think the problems on my end.

You can save money on gas by knowing where you are going to stay or where sites are avaliable

Was hoping to use this as a one stop shop for finding camping, be it free, dispersed camping with reviews, or just book state and national campgrounds. On the latter part, I really appreciate the reviews, but unfortunately the availability is inaccurate, rendering the search for campground feature almost useless. For example, It will say the number of campsites (up to 10 I’ve seen) available for the days you entered. Not only are none available, but none are available for several weeks.

Love this app for helping me find camping spots last minute

It worked great last year. We headed out to our favorite camping area 2026 and are finding out it is consistently crashing whenever you try to click on a site’s details. iPhone 17 Pro Max and iOS 26.3.1. We go camping once per month. Please fix. Thanks!
