WebNovel - Read Novels & Manga for iPhone

I was a long time user of this app since maybe 6ish years and absolutely loved it! I read more stories than I can count, but coming back today after a year or so of not really touching the app (transitioning from school life to adulthood) I have been severely disappointed. The amount of ai slop and utterly absurd prices and subscriptions to access anything is disgusting. I get the world being in a weird economical state but anyone having to spend 100’s-1000’s just to read a book is gross. Will not be using again until theres real change made here.

But that’s about all the positives I’ll give it. This app is far inferior to other reading apps, like kindle, at least on an ipad. And before someone helpfully chimes in that it’s for an iphone… I mainly have an ipad for the superior reading experience. The page rendering is okay - not amazing, but okay. The controls are atrocious, the interface is a kludgy mess.

Short stories not the real thing and want you to pay just to finish reading the short story

This app was such a good find when everything was free to use now they wanna charge how much?????, ok, subscription I get, like I’ll gladly pay for that if I can read any of the novels I want but bro be for real here, we need to get coins tooooo to read those chapters???? Hello I will support the author if it was a reasonable price but now webnivel decided they wanted to be one of those tycoon that sweep up all the money like who in their right mind actually thought this is a good idea and we should charge the user 100x the price. I literally was using it daily for 2 years now I’m literally addicted to the app but I had to delete it the other day cause the cost is astronomical I can’t handle it. Now I have to find something else. Thank you to whoever made that implementation of charging more. I thanks you from the bottom of my heart and I hope you live a long good life, holy mother of Jesus.

I love the stories, but the app makes it so hard to read multiple chapters.

The stories you can find on here are fun to read but the app itself causes my phone to heat up a lot and burn through battery much faster than normal.

The stories are good but buying chapters make the book I’m reading around $200 to complete! Rediculous for a book!

App has adds that play sound affects making it so you have to listen to annoying sounds when you are trying to listen to music. The cost of reading is absurd and is not even worth entertaining. Only use of the app is to read fanfic other than that completely worthless trash.

I love the audio book feature reading to me, but it stops on its own sometimes and after hitting play doesn’t work till I close the app or skip forwards a chapter. If I close the app the book starts back at the beginning of the chapter I was on.
