iOverlander is a mapping app to help travelers find camping and accommodation worldwide - no matter
how remote your destination.
Only real places by real travelers.
Unbiased and never sponsored. There is no list or robot that can ever replace what a traveler says standing right there in that spot. Typos and all, we believe the best data comes from overlanders onsite.
No signal? No problem.
The best places on this planet don’t have cell signal. All our data is stored on your phone, so you can plan your day without wifi. Download offline maps of entire states and countries, that give you all the tiny alleys, building footprints, and small landmarks to make travel easier.
Campsites are just the beginning.
Mechanics, restaurants, hotels, propane, water, wifi, shopping, laundry, showers, doctors, tourist attractions, border crossings, warnings, checkpoints, insurance, storage, shipping, consulates, banks, and more.
Moderated by overlanders, not AI.
Our moderators have spent a collective century on the road and 30,000 hours moderating entries. They’re not planning to stop anytime soon.
But wait, there's more!
In addition to finding places, you can add new ones, leave reviews, save favorites, and share places with other travelers. Subscribe to iOverlander Pro or Unlimited to download offline maps, access satellite maps, BLM and USFS overlays, save filters, search and more!
Wherever you're headed, we've got your next destination.

Reoccurring scam advertisements!

Second time I’ve been served a scam ad while using iOverlander. This one impersonates a Google Translate update warning — complete with broken grammar and the wrong logo — designed to trick users into tapping a fake “Update” button. This is predatory advertising that targets the overlanding community. If the app can’t vet its ad network, I can’t recommend it. Disappointing, because the underlying tool is genuinely useful.
Used to be great

App has progressively gotten worse since they transitioned to the for-pay model. The app now is basically unusable. It crashes whenever I try to view a campsite. Sad to see the decline of what was a great app.
Used to be fantastic

iOverlander pre-update used to be the perfect app. Post-update is a joke. Being able to only save one state’s information? Come on.
The best

My opinion is this app is the best one for what it does. I’ve used all over and it’s been very helpful. I’ve downloaded plenty of others but they just don’t work as well.
My only issue is I would like downloaded maps for areas like Wyoming with no cell service.

We used this app almost exclusively for years, it was amazing. It was simple, and easy to use, got the job done. Absolutely terrible interface now.

Was a great app used for many years but what was recognizable world wide has fell off to the greed of capitalism. Thanks to apps that offer much more for cheaper be the route
OLD APP WAS BETTER

I don’t care about paying a little bit for the service- but common. The old app had such a better work flow. Who on earth designed this new one? It sucks
Insanely expensive paid plan, and basic functions like searching are locked behind a paywall

The original iOverlander was amazing. This new iOverlander (originally called iOverlander 2) absolutely sucks. The dev got greedy. Classic. $15/month for a subscription is way too much. No option for a single-time purchase. Way too many basic functions are locked behind a paywall. Dude ruined what was a fantastic product. 👎
