1Password has been helping folks forget their passwords since 2006. Trusted by millions of people an
d more than 150,000 businesses, "1Password offers the best combination of features, compatibility, security, and ease of use" among password managers, according to The New York Times Wirecutter.
== Generate strong passwords ==
Use the built-in password generator to create strong, unguessable passwords with a tap, then access those secure passwords on any device. 1Password works across popular operating systems as a browser extension, mobile app, or desktop app.
== Sign in automatically ==
Autofill your username and saved passwords when signing in to websites or apps. 1Password for iPhone and iPad works with Safari and apps so you can sign in to your online accounts without the hassle. You can even download a dedicated 1Password for Safari browser extension for even more seamless integration.
== Built-in two-factor authentication ==
1Password can also create and autofill one-time two-factor authentication codes for services that support 2FA, so there’s no need for a separate authenticator app – and no more copying and pasting.
== Industry-leading passkey support ==
Did you know there’s a more convenient and secure alternative to passwords? They’re called passkeys, and you can generate and save those in 1Password, too – and even use them to unlock 1Password. For sites that support passkeys, you’ll never have to generate another password.
== Sign in with other providers ==
If you sign in to websites or apps with Apple or other providers in a web browser, you can store and sign in with those logins in 1Password, too.
== Secure and organize your digital life ==
Faster sign-ins are only the beginning. In addition to managing passwords and passkeys, you can store credit cards, secure notes, banking info, medical records, and anything else you want to protect in 1Password, so your most valuable personal information is always available on any device.
== Share anything, securely ==
Share passwords and anything you store in 1Password with anyone, even if they don’t use 1Password. Securely (and temporarily) share Wi-Fi details, financial information, and other sensitive info with friends, family, or colleagues to keep that information out of insecure channels like email and messaging apps.
== Security made easy ==
Strong password generation is a big win for your personal security, but 1Password is much more than a password vault. Security features include unlocking 1Password with biometric authentication (including Touch ID or Face ID), and real-time security alerts and reporting through Watchtower. You’ll know immediately if your accounts are compromised in a data breach, so you can take the necessary action.
== Travel Mode ==
Protect your data from prying eyes while traveling with Travel Mode. Temporarily hide vaults containing sensitive information and restore them when you’re home.
== Uniquely secure, completely private ==
Protect yourself and your family from cyber criminals with 1Password’s unique, industry-leading security. We can’t see your 1Password data, so we can’t use it, share it, or sell it. Learn more about our security model at 1Password.com/security.

Poorly designed work-flows
1
By Macorin
The work-flows in this app are very flawed and support doesn’t care, because they never listen to their users. It’s as if they live on a different planet where the reported issues never occur. The fact is, they occur very often and very consistently.
I’ll give but one example. I just received an email to create a login at a site I registered for. The email told me the username to use (my email) and provided a temporary password. After entering those credentials, I was directed to a page to create a new password of my choosing. 1Password, like many times, couldn’t handle this workflow. It asked me if I wanted to save the initial login, which I did. It then presented auto-generated passwords for the new password. However, after choosing my new password, it didn’t offer to update the login credentials, so now that login is stored with the temporary password. This means I have to log out. Go through the steps where I lost my password, and start all over again, hoping that 1Password will ask to update the associated login.
This is but one of the many headaches you have to deal with when using this app. There’s got to be a better way.
Very hard to use in a corporate setting

Very inconsistent interface. 1password vs op vs 1password 8? It’s hard to figure out which to use. Standardize on 1 or one.
On top of that, we need to have a secret key? And we need to have the desktop app and op installed at the same time to use it for development? For some reason I’m also required to have the iOS app so I can log in on my computer? And i need to use it once a week or i get logged out?
This created a situation where a team of 20 developers lost 4 hours of work due to a password rotation.
Clearly it works after some startup effort, but the process of using it has been so difficult it creates new problems.
Would very much like to see some integration / ergonomics updates. As it stands, cannot recommend

SEPT 2025 Update: Many of the UI bugs still exist - and I've seen them on multiple IOS devices. The most concern NV one is how sometimes pulling up an item shows an old version of that item. And then to get it to refresh - you edit the item, cancel out, and then suddenly you’re looking at the correct version of it. It’s been going off for at least six months, and it’s an unacceptable bug. Not to mention they won’t implement proper emergency access – something that literally every other password manager has. I am considering moving everything into another system. One password has stagnated. FEB 2023 UPDATE: They have made some small but important bug fixes and UX changes that alleviate some of 1P8’s awful initial release. Bumping from 1 star to 3. Search is still a mess, but other QOL changes are making up for it finally. OLD REVIEW: Sadly this is overall pretty bad in my opinion. I thought everybody was just throwing a hissy fit as people do when change comes their way – but that is not the case here. This is actually a major downgrade from iOS 1P7 and people are right to be furious. It's just an awful UX. I'm an existing 1Password user, that’s been pretty happy with 1Password 7 on iOS and 1Password 8 on desktop . I loved the company's approach to a clean, intuitive, simple password manager. I'm a software engineer myself, very tech savvy, and have explored many password managers - and 1P was the best hands down. I have advocated for 1P in social circles, and have switched my whole family over to it because it was so easy to use. That all went OUT THE WINDOW in IOS 1P8. Seriously - how could they put out such a confusing and messily organized app - after having near perfection in 1P7? I'm baffled - and frustrated - because now I'm not sure it's right for my family anymore. Who the heck wanted customization features? I don't need 36 different sub-par ways to do something - I need one intuitive way. And why in the world would the search bar be it's own empty page?? And the new approach to changing vaults is now super error prone and slow. The vault behavior now is much more "fluid" and easier to change - so it's really easy to be in the wrong vault or edit the wrong item. The last version was very explicit (via a vault switcher) what the vault domain was - but here it's just a mess. Totally hate it. The customization options are confusing my less tech saavy family members and their having problems because it - savings things in wrong vaults and pulling passwords from wrong vaults. I don't know who is running the ship over there - this is so uncharacteristic of 1Password. As a user, advocate, and senior software dev - I would recommend totally abandoning this UX and UI approach. Go back to the design principles of 1Password7, and put some new styling and faster animations on it. Just shine up your old, already dominant app. That's literally all you needed to do to maintain your dominance in the password manager space. Please fix this ASAP. Eye candy is nothing without clear and intuitive navigation and click paths. If you are intent on keeping these 1P8 click paths - then please for the love of God put a darn search bar on the item page and each item menu’s drilldown page - and get rid of the search standalone page. It could be tolerable if you put a search bar everywhere. 1P8’s design works better on large screens, like desktops and tablets. But you can’t just slap that same approach across all device viewport sizes. 1P8 on mobile needs some signifiant UX changes to accommodate for the smaller screen and smaller keyboard. I don’t understand why they chose what they did - but it does not work at all. And on top of all of that - there are bugs. Many bugs. ”Recently deleted” it’s just a bunch of error, messages. There are rendering issues when trying to auto fill - I see a flash occasionally and the item icons flicker. This is such a vital app for people’s lives - but the app looks like a beta version. There are glimmers of hope - pinned items and favorites are a nice touch. But it’s overshadowed by the excessive customization options. Recently created or Recently modified ? Frequently used or Recently used ? These are excessive and overlapping - I tested them out myself. For example, a new login will be present in both “recently modified” and “recently created”. And likewise, there’s a really good chance that something you “frequently use” will also be in “recently used”. It’s these sorts of weird and unnecessary customizations that taint the good that there is for me. 1Password 8 on IOS is hot garbage for me currently and I wish it wasn’t so. I’m not going to jump ship yet but this is really really rocky. It needs major navigation changes and bug squashes.
Font size not bold or sizable

Love 1 password! Just upgraded from Verison seven to Verison 8. In my iPhone. The only issue I have is the super thin font. The last comment I’ve seen addressing this is four years old.
Do you plan to allow iOS to bold the fonts in version 8 like every other app installed in my iPhone 16 Pro Max?
Customer service is nonexistent

By Brookeley8
The functionality of OnePass is fine. The issue is that their customer service is nonexistent and unreachable by phone. I couldn’t get into one password because it was tied to an email from my old job. I was unable therefore to access my account to unlink it and set up a personal account. Despite restating
this in every email, every solution offered, required logging into the old account. How would you ever continue to trust a company that you cannot reach by phone, to help solve a problem with something as important as your password vault?

I realized I don’t think I’ve written a review ever for these guys.
I’m sorry to say, I take them for granted.
I signed up with them several years ago. I’ve been using them ever since.
There was one time that I thought I could do better. I couldn’t.
These people keep improving their product. The price may not be the lowest, but it’s worth every penny.
I feel my data is safe and thoroughly kept. I’ll be staying with them.
Keep up the great work everyone!
