    Compared to other games made by the same company, Genshin looks like a joke, mainly because how horrible it treats its player. I started playing since 2.x and I genuinely love this game, but I've noticed more and more problems. - A skip button. Arduous, hour-long, unskippable quests that resets if you exit mid-quest, not to mention they are mainly made up of dialogues. It takes hours. Many, if not the majority of the player base find it exhausting. - Lackluster in-game reward. From calculations, we receive 60 pulls per patch, but with many, many conditions (log in and do commissions everyday, finish all events, all end-game content,...). Casual players get 40 pulls max. Long quests (+ rewards from exploring) give less than 3-5 pulls. - Old/Outdated features. I really appreciate the QoL updates recently, the devs did a perfect job, and that's a step in the right direction. I'd love to see more in the future (such as, updating the region compass). - A Switch port. With a trailer since 2020, there is barely information about Genshin on Switch, which left a lot of player disappointed and waiting. I'd like to know if there's any plan for it yet. And with the Switch 2's release, making a port for it right now is the perfect choice.
  • Genshin no longer cares about its players

    While the game started out as an expansive, lore filled, and interesting game it has drastically changed. In the beginning you could mash any characters into a team and they would well together, however, they now lock important reactions, that they require to pass challenges, behind limited five stars while continuing to give fewer and fewer rewards(to their highest income game mind you). Genshin’s sister games get constant free five star selectors, 180 pulls per patch, constant map expansions, and more while free to play Genshin players can get at most 64 wishes(not enough to even think about a guaranteed 5 star) in the upcoming update(6.4). The most recent map expansion didn’t even give a 10 pulls worth of rewards from exploration. And this is with a highly anticipated nation re-run banner happening right before multiple highly awaited characters(new and re-runs). The in game content for old players and high level players is also severely lacking. They are constantly re-using previous events that give barely any rewards along with giving fewer and fewer side quests. This leaves old players with literally nothing to do while they wait for the next repeat event or re-written main quest. They also have appeared to completely rewritten their own story, the more recent stories go back on pre-established lore and leave major plot points. They shoe-horned in a new region of a pre-established Nation just to postpone that Nation’s release. They clearly rewrote a major character to make her more appealing to a certain demographic(which they are clearly favoring with their extremely limited male character cast) without thinking about how this would affect pre-established voice-lines, lore, and effects surrounding this character. They also seem to have completely shifted from the multiple different factions to purely focusing on one faction as being the evil one while we befriend they other, which we have clearly disliked and haven’t trusted in the beginning. This isn’t even taking into account the EXTREMELY OBVIOUS racism. Nations based on Africa, South Asia, etc are used, some characters even having the names of religious deities, yet the characters are as white as a piece of paper. This even applies to the NPCs where they will have beautifully designed poc NPCs, who are distinct and have representation beyond referencing the culture or taking the names of dirties, and make them be viewed as “evil” and “savage” by the in game characters while the paper white NPCs are rarely seen as bad on these nations. And for the very few poc characters(I can count on one hand how many there are) that they do have they make their skills, fighting abilities, and uses so useless that people are forced to not use them. It’s like they want the culture of a place without its people. They do very little right anymore(one of the few things being the implied LGBTQ relationships along with allusions to different types of disabilities as a form of inclusivity), they can’t get away with how much they do wrong for their biggest game.
  • Behind compared to other hoyoverse games

    I've been playing this game since launch and the rewards are concerning. Next patch there's 2 new 5* characters that are very anticipated with two other limited 5* characters returning. 60 pulls is a crazy amount to give. It's 89 pulls to guarantee a 5* and 178 to guarantee yourself the character on the banner if you're on a 50/50. Other hoyoverse games like Honkai: star rail and Zenless Zone Zero are very ahead of Genshin. It's been 5, almost 6 years and there is still no skip button. The team for Genshin needs to listen to their players and do better.

    I’ve been playing since 2.1 and I can def tell u this game is greedy and gives almost no real rewards to players that can’t afford to pay for more wishes. Generally, it’s not bad at all, but the fact that you need to spend money on it sort of ruins the experience for me.
  • The tutorial is the most longest thing I ever went through

    First, the progression system feels heavily throttled. Advancing your characters, weapons, and artifacts is tied to a resin system that strictly limits how much meaningful gameplay you can do in a day. Instead of encouraging exploration or experimentation, it often pushes players into short, repetitive sessions that feel more like chores than adventures.
  • If I could give half a star I would

    Less than 60 pulls for one version is nuts. HSR does double that ;-;
