HBO Max: Stream Movies & TV for iPhone

If you rewind too far or accidentally close the screen a few seconds before the commercials end it makes you watch all 3 commercials again. Very frustrating when there is already, what I consider to be, too many commercials per episode.

I really dislike seeing IT Welcome to Derry advertisements every time I open my app. I hate that franchise. I hate that I’m forced to see it. It seems like the only way to block it is by making my profile a children’s profile. Can someone please make this app more user friendly and customizable.

Never remembers what episode you’re on when switching from one device to another. Waaaay too many ads, even more so when you have to find the episode you were on then fast forward to where you were at.

Continues to sign me out of my account saying that I’m traveling.

There seems to be a disconnect between the mobile app and the TV app. Typically more when we switch from mobile to TV, the players forget where I am in a show. It has often set me back whole episodes. The app sometimes doesn’t show subtitles, despite always having subtitles on. I’ve even had them disappear during an episode after I had to jump ahead because the player put me back several minutes.

I love HBO Max’s content, but the app has a frustrating bug with profiles. My mom and I share an account with separate profiles, but whenever one of us watches a show, it messes up the other’s watch progress rewinding episodes or skipping ahead. We’ve tried using different devices and logging in/out, but it still happens. This makes it really hard to keep track of shows we’re watching.

This app is pretty good, so, yeah. I recommend

HBO price increases is getting out of control and way way too many ads. Trying to watch a movie and you see ads every 13 minutes or so its insane

Stop deleting my reviews! Fix your app! You have to hit OK on the remote a dozen times to play! Fast forward and rewind are also completely broken, this whole just doesn't work the way literally every single other Apple TV app works!

Upgrading to the HBO Max Premium plan was the best decision. The 4K picture, Dolby Atmos sound, and ad-free streaming make the experience feel like a movie theater at home. The content is unbeatable. Easy 5 stars!
