Planner 5D: AI Home Design for iPhone

Warning- this app offers you a free 7 day trial period, yet it will take an auto payment charge using the Apple Subscription system after 3 days, charge you for a year’s subscription expecting the average user won’t notice the charge. I tried this app for a few minutes and went and cancelled the subscription (well within the trial period) in the app. 5d charged the subscription fee anyway. I’ve submitted a refund request with Apple Support and hope I get refunded, but be aware that 5d’s offer of a free 7 day trial is a scam. Don’t take the bait because you will be automatically charged for a year subscription with the Apple Subscription system. On a side note, this app is useless too, I uploaded a pdf floor plan to have its AI render my home layout and every attempt failed. Useless!!!

Didn’t even get to try the app. As soon as I opened it and answered all the questions, it wanted me to sign up for a temporary “free” membership.

Already wasting my time

Do not download this if you have the intent of scanning a space with your camera and uploading it to be edited using AI. Which basically is the primary description of what the apps primary use case is but it doesn’t work at all. i’ve tried uploading videos a dozen times and it never once has scanned the space successfully. Huge waste of money and very frustrating. Find another app. Any other app. but don’t waste time with this one.

Does not load plans, waste of money

Do NOT get this app. It literally doesn’t work and they refuse to refund me for an annual subscription ~ $70. It only lets you do one home scan included in that $70 purchase, and it wasn’t even accurate. The UX is terrible and doesn’t tell you if you can move between floors for the home scan making it impossible to do more than one floor.

I cancelled my subscription before the end of the trial. They charged me for the year anyway.

The overall app is good with all of the graphics and reality, but it is very expensive to upgrade and get what you really want.

After carefully measuring my room and furniture to lay it out in the app, I succumbed to the temptation to use the “Bernard AI” features. In addition to producing an incoherent design, it broke my floor plan (disconnecting walls, etc) and deleted my furniture—perhaps as expected. What I didn’t expect is an inability to restore any of the work I had previously done. This is apparently a known issue, affecting not just AI changes but any attempts to revert to older versions. This seemingly makes it impossible to experiment with different arrangements, ie use the software for its intended purpose. The help robot and a very nice customer service person suggested duplicating often as a workaround, a very helpful suggestion arriving way too late. This workflow is not part of the New User Experience and the duplicate button is not anywhere on the actual editing screen on iOS. I’m genuinely shocked to have lost the work and hope my subscription will be refunded.

From my design business all this really comes in handy I can input all the things into the system and it works out very well.
