I decided to do the one week trial to see what this was about. I like the idea, but the experience is less broad than app developers would have you believe. Every. Single. Letter. (Like, 50 of them) was from a male, and easily half of them were long poems. I’m not on the app to meet women, but I was hoping for interaction with them solely for the purpose of getting their perspectives. This feels like a barren wasteland of desperate or depressed single dudes. Only two of the letters I received had real substance and made me want to respond.

I really like how this app makes it easy to talk and connect in complete anonymity. Wish the UI was more streamlined and all conversations with the same person showed up in a single thread. Also, wish we could report people using this as a dating app, whether they are real or scammers. It’s so aggravating to have people hit on you when you’re just trying to have fun, casual conversation.

I’ve had a decent time with the app, I use it to try to help others the best I can, and the format is easy to understand and use. But the ads are ridiculous, I understand having them as a free app, but the sheer amount that I get is unreasonable. I can get past the ads to read extra letters, but some of them are literally three minutes and unskippable. But the most annoying ones are the adds that suddenly appear out of nowhere while I’m either reading someone’s letter, responding to one, or writing my own.
I’d purchase the premium version if it didn’t cost an arm and a leg compared to other apps, or if it had a one-time purchase option.
For an app meant for helping people through their difficulties, and as a person who strives to do that every day, the cost of the premium version, and the amount of ads present on the base version seems a bit greedy to me, and I’m very conservative with my usage of the term “greedy”
