HENRY SHUKMAN teaches mindfulness and awakening practices to a wide range of students from all traditions and walks of life. Henry is an authorized Zen Master in the Sanbo Zen lineage, and is the Spiritual Director of Mountain Cloud Zen Center in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His struggles and traumatic experiences as a youth, combined with a spontaneous awakening experience at 19, paved the way for Henry to develop a well-rounded approach to meditation.

I used to be able to start a meditation and then click the power button on my iPhone to turn off the screen. However, when I do that in this most recent version, the meditation stops. Please fix this.

I’ve tried other meditation apps including headspace, insight timer, and even have a lifetime membership to calm.
But there is something about The Way that is just ….. different. I don’t know if it’s Henry’s voice, having a constant teacher, or a laid out path. But whatever it is, it’s worth it. 5 stars for

I love how the course is set up. It slowly builds upon the foundation of mindfulness and then explores how to work with various aspects that arise in meditation, and life. Henry’s voice is very soothing and you can feel that he is genuinely a kind person. I recommend it to my clients and I suggest you try it!

I’ve tried meditating many times before but always found it hard. Henry’s approach is completely different. He helps you just observe and accept the noise in your mind as a beginner. Highly recommend this app. And his voice is very soothing :) I dare to say it feels fun to do this meditation.

I’ve tried every meditation app out there and have found something in The Way I haven’t seen anywhere else. The simplicity of just sitting once per day is what I like. No choices. I used the Waking Up app with the most success before this, and The Way feels like a step up from that. I’m deepening my practice and consistently sitting again. Thanks Henry and team!

I’ve tried meditation apps and was skeptical of this one being any different. I’m so pleasantly surprised! The curriculum is so well thought out and the app interface is super simple. It’s like a mix of reading a meditation book and having a meditation teacher/ partner, but the complexity is taken out for you. Highly recommend!
